What is Hospice

Hospice is a multidisciplinary team program for terminally ill patients and their families. Patients who choose hospice are making a choice on how they want to live out their lives; they are not "giving up". Hospice does not hasten death nor prolong life. The primary goal of hospice is quality of life. Hospice provides specialized services to support patients and their families with end of life issues including pain control, symptom management, respite, grief counseling and bereavement support.
